RTU Telecommunications Institute at international conference "RTUWO' 17" in Riga, Latvia

RTUWO 2017 – Conference on Advances in Wireless and Optical Communications, dedicated to the achievements and challenges of the wireless and optical communications sector, took place on 2-3 of November at the RTU Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications, Azenes Street 12. Researchers and PhD students of the RTU Institute of Telecommunications also presented their latest research results at the Conference.


The conference was opened on November 2 and was attended by RTU Associate Professor Artūrs Āboltiņš, Deputy Professor of RTU, professor Gatis Bāzbauers, Head of the Latvian Department of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), associate professor of the RTU ETF Andrejs Romanovs and Dean of RTU ETF professor Jurgis Porins.

The conference work was organized in ten sections dealing with issues related to optical fibers and photonics, optical, wireless, sensor networks, cognitive and 2D2 radio and other topics. 57 readings were read during the conference and posters presentations were also included in the work program. The conference was attended by 147 participants from 32 countries.

The conference is organized by RTU in cooperation with Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences, Technology, Business and Design (Germany), Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia), RISE Acreo AB (Sweden), Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania), Kaunas University of Technology ( Lithuania), Technical University of Denmark (Denmark), and IEEE Latvia Branch and Electronics and Computer Science Institute.

Study Telecommunications

RTU offers degree programmes in English. The programmes taught in English lead to Bachelor degree in three  or four years and to Master degree in two years.
